Facilitator - Week 6 -

Hi everyone my name is Lucy, and this week I have been in charge of the facilitator role. That means that I have been the boss of my group, and to be honest it was nice to command to my group mates. Once I knew that I would have to perform this role, I started to encourage all of them to do their job, and from my point of view all of them took on their role very seriously, striving as much as they could.

I would like to point out that It is not easy to coordinate the whole group. This is because we have to find a suitable schedule which suits to everyone, and as it is normal not all the members of the group are available for work at the same time. The group is made up of eight members and we have to do bobbin lace in order to finish before wednesday at 10:30  (time for presentation in our classroom along with our other classgroups)  all the challenges which involve each task. 

In spite of the lack of time we have for preparing the task and the load of work which it involves, at the end everyone has managed to fulfill our shared goal, getting all the things ready by the time of the presentation, which takes place as I said above on Wednesday.

To my mind we need to improve our efficiently as a group when it comes to colaborative work.  But of course, as the time pass by I am sure that in following weeks we will improve in this aspect, because we have very committed, responsible and hardworking mates in the group. They will live up to the challenge.

Analyst - Week 6 -

 

Hello, I am Marta and this week I have been the analyst of the group so I have had to observe and value the work of all my classmates.
The task of this week called Cartooning the subject until now consisted in the realization of different graphic novels, summarizing in each one of them 10 main ideas about everything learned during the other weeks.

In the draw, we had the best luck and being the first to choose, we chose magazine covers since most agreed that it was going to be an original and attractive way to explain all our work.
The best part of the work from my point of view has been the creativity when looking for each of the different covers, and the great contribution of the whole team to choose the photos, that part has been very funny because as we like both The task this week, each of us wanted the chosen photo to be ours.

On the other hand it could be said that the worst part as always is the lack of time, not only to seek all the information if not to carry out some manuality. Although I have to say that there has been no bad part at all since we have been very comfortable with this task.
As for the aspects to improve as always is the organization, I think we assigned the roles too late as I think we read the task with very little time, that is, many days, the same Monday that is when we started to work.

 In spite of everything I have to say that our group is evolving little by little and every day has better ideas and there is much more enthusiasm when doing the work. Before as now the tasks of each week are mandatory, but as I said before, little by little as we like more, we all show a lot of interest, and this is how things come out better.

With this work we have learned many things, more than we already knew. We learned to use different types of programs to edit the photos and to be able to do so the magazine covers, we learned more, about all the concepts that we had previously used since having to put the main ideas on the cover, everything became clearer. In addition we have learned different ways to be able to teach this to children in a pleasant and attractive way,for being able to better capture their attention,

Translator - Week 6 -

Hello everyone!  I am Pepe and throughout this week I have performed the role of translator. Now I'm going to explain the 5 most important concept of this task:

1.      Magazine covers.

It is the front page of a magazine.  It has different components as a masthead, selling line, dateline, the main image, model credit, coverline, main cover line and the bar code. as its name says, it is a resource in which we have to put the main ideas as it is an magazine.

2.      Summarize

To state or express the most important facts or ideas about something or someone, in a short and clear form.

3.      Graphic novel

Graphic novel is “a full-length story published as a book in comic-strip format. They are similar to comic books because they use sequential art to tell a story. Unlike  comic books, graphic novels are generally stand-alone stories  with more complex plots.

4.      Eye-catching

It is something which is very attractive and noticeable.

5.      Magazine Publisher

A business firm that publishes magazines. He/she works for a magazine and between his/her duties we can stand out the following ones:

-          be responsible for defining what a particular magazine is about and making sure that it is a success; define Magazine's Mission; hire Staff; make a budget; oversee editorial content; supervise production; represent magazine.

Star - Week 6 -

Hello everyone! Welcome one more day to our blog. I am Monica and this sixth week I have been the star of my group, the superstar.

The task of week 6 has been very fun and creative.
The way to do the work has been very comfortable but the presentation of our work has been a little more complicated.

From the point of view of a star everything looks different and this week I've been me, I've seen it in that way.

When we did the lotery and I touched the star role I was very happy because I wanted to do it already but it was approaching the day of the exhibition and the nerves increased.

It is on the first times that I speak in public and I was very scared just in case I was wrong or I was left blank but finally, everything went well and the exposition was good.

I tried to do it in the best possible way.

Journalist - Week 6 -

Hi everyone! My name is Andrea and this week I've played the journalist role. Let's see what we've done!

Monday

The week started (as always) with Linda's class. She explained us that we had to summarize all the thing we've learnt in the subject since the course started in a cartoon way. I mean, what we had to do was to find the 10 key ideas that we have learnt and try to explain them by using a graphic novel. There were seven different techniques to do this task, but each group have to do a different one, so Linda decided to do a kind of raffle to choose the technique. I think that it was our lucky day because we were the first at choosing. After deliberating it, our group decided to make some magazine covers to explain these 10 ideas. 

Having done the distribution of the techniques, we started to work quickly. One part of the group was in charge of thinking about the concepts that we've learnt and the other one about the structure of our magazine covers. 

They thought it was great to make some pictures of us for the covers, so we went out for the class for it. Having finished the photo shoot, we decided that the pictures were not well enough to put them in our covers, but we had fun while we were doing them! 

We met after having lunch at skype to organize ourselves. Our facilitator, Lucy, was in charge of dividing the work. So some of the groups were in charge of writting the ideas we wanted to express in the cover, others were looking for pictures that represented these ideas and the other ones were thinking about the structure of the covers. The afternoon passed quickly while we were working, and at night we decided that it was better to continue the next day.



Tuesday

Like the day before, our tuesday consisted in meeting after lunch and working until the sun comes down. During the afternoon I was in charge of doing the covers with the help of my mates, and I'm actually happy with the result. Our star Mónica studied a lot to do a great presentation to the class!

We decided to print the covers in a big size and buy some sweets to go with them in order to give a magazine cover to every group of the class.

Wednesday

 Finally wednesday arrived, and with it, our facilitator with a very tasty chocolate sponge cake that motivate us all! 

As every week, the presentations started, and all of our mates did their work very well! The presentation we've liked the most was the Spikyteachers' one because we thought it was very difficult to make a hieroglyph but they did it lovely and very attractive. They were also dressed as glam Egyptians, thing that was very funny.
