Curator-farmer - Week 4 -

Hello everyone, I am Cristina and this week my role in this group is to be the curator-farmer. In order to obtain the information, we have used the following pages. Here we leave the links.

Translator - Week 4 -

Hello everyone. I'm Monica from the Superstars group. This week, my role has been the translator. This role has been difficult because I had never heard of licenses,copyright... On the other hand, about the presentations, I found it simpler.

There are five important words in this task and they are the following:

  • Copyright is an English word that mean "derechos de autor". Right(derecho) Copy(copia). When someone makes a song, video, work, and another person sees it and copies it the creator has the right to denounce by copy. Copyright is a way of putting a signature on your work.

  • The license is the way in which a person gives the right to other person to see, copy or modify the works or documentos that he has done, without copyright.

  • CCo means (with hidden copy). These acronyms are mainly used in emails forrecipients do not see the rest of the people who are going to read the same message and for maintain the security of the people.

  • CC means with copy. On the contrary, in this function all people can see all recipients who are going to read the sent message.

  • Copyleft is a way to do works in which people can access, modify, copy information and so on. It is a work without copyright, that is, it is free.

Analyst - Week 4 -

Hello everyone! I am Lucy and in this week I had to be the analyst, so I have to pay attention to my mates’ work to evaluate them.
This week we had to talk about a topic we want taking into account that this was to primary children, also we had to do a presentation with 30 slides which includes the types of licenses and the stages to do a good Power Point.
First we had to choose one topic to expose and this was the most difficult part of the work, because we said different ideas but we didn’t agree at the beginning, because the group’s Star had to like it and the whole group had to agree with it. Finally we decided to talk about “Feeding Habits”.
The best part of the activity was to think how we can do our presentation; it was a funny moment because we said some activities and ideas which all of us liked and we were laughing about it. On the other hand, the worse part of the activity was when we had to look for the information we need, because was a boring and long thing that some of the group had to do in one afternoon.
Relating to the task, we learned some tips to do a good presentation and to make a good Power Point; also we learn how to put a license in a blog and the different types of licenses which there are and the importance to put it in our works and to know if the images, information, etc., which we are using has or not copyright.
The good points of our group are still being to have different perspectives, to respect the opinion of each other without judging them and trying to improve it, and the fact that we help each other in case of needed it. But on the other hand our group doesn’t improve on the organization of the task, because it’s true that everyone has worked, but some members are working harder than the others.
This task is much related with the subject and our degree, because in all of our degree we will have to do presentations, so we have to know how to do a good and an appropriate presentation if we want to success. Also we have to know how to put a license in our work if we want to share and allow to others to use it.
Thanks to this task we know how we have to do an adequate presentation in our degree and in our future as teachers. Also we know the different licenses which there are and how we have to use it.

Journalist - Week 4 -

Hello everyone! My name is Paula and this week I have been the journalist of my group.
This week we had to do the task number 4 and it was called: Telling Stories: Free Resources and visual presentations.  It was about the use of educational resources, how to create a good presentation and how to fine and use free resources, one so we had to do two tasks. The first one it was about creating a presentation of maximum 30 slides to explain two things, in the first 10 slides what means to use Creative Commons Licence resources and how to do that, and in the rest of the slides we had to explain the tips for developing an amazing presentation.
And in the second one we had to choose a topic, related with something of Primary School, and presented in class with an oral exposition and using a Power Point.
The first day of the task, on Monday, we decided the new roles of each member of the group and in class we started to watch the videos and read the links that Linda put on the description of the task. This was very helpful because at the beginning we didn’t know exactly how we had to do it, so with this links we could answer our questions and start to think about how we but do it. On the afternoon we meet up again and we start to look for the theoretical things that we need it to do the presentations, such us definitions, the types of licences… And on Tuesday we dedicated the day to finish it and do the presentations of the two tasks for the next day. Also, our start this week, Andrea prepares her speech.

Wednesday came and it was the time to expos the presentations about the topic. The class started writing each curator of the group the items that it were going to explain later, and after each presentation each group had to put the items that they though it were explained and later gave to the group that present that topic. Thanks to this, all groups could be able to know if the presentation was clear and the audience understood the main points of their presentation.

The first group to expos was the Spacers. Their presentation was very clear and easy to understand and well explained. They made a model about the Solar System, the topic they had to expos.

The second group was mine. It was about healthy habits. The star talked about the food pyramid, what we should eat most often, the sport and also the the diseases that a bad supply produces.

The next group to present was Ladies and Gentleman’s, although they couldn’t finish their presentation because the time was over, it was funny and they made to participate the class, which made the expo much dynamic.

The following group was the Flower Power, they also couldn’t end the presentation because the time over but it was funny and clear, making to participate the class, which made the expo much dynamic.

The fifth group was the Wild Cats, their expo was clear and easily to follow and also put the references that they use.

The sixth group was the Starfisher, their expo was funny but like other groups, they didn’t have enough time to end the presentation.

The next group was the Architeachers. The expo was clear and easy to follow, and also at the end of the presentation they put some videos to understand with metaphors the steps of the digestive system (their topics).

The eighth group was the Fishers in the river. Their topic was the water cycle and they made a model to represent it and to saw was the cycle while that star was explaining it. The star was very nervous at it was observed but was explained everything well so it was easy to understood it.

And the last group was the Spyki teachers. They were disguised as an orchestra, the star was taking a bow tie and a baton and the rest they were dressed in black and each one was representing to an instrument. They made to participate the class but they didn’t have enough time to finish the presentation.

At the end of each presentation, Linda ask the groups where the images came and also she gave some advices to the team that it was exposing about hot to make better the Power Point for the following times. Some of the advices are the next:
At the end of the expos it is good to finish with a good phrase and to say what it is the next activity.
The letters should be the type of Calibri, Verdana… but not Comic Sans because it isn’t advisable to use types of letters with little draws or difficult to read. Also it should only be use the capital letter to things very important and always the same type of letter.

Although the insoles of the Power Points can be nice the only thing that they do is to distract the audience, for what it is better to use a simple bottom, as white.

Facilitator - Week 4 -

Hello everybody! I am Ana and this 4th week I have been the facilitator. The task that we have to do was called “Telling stories: Free resources and visual presentations”. We started watching the videos that were in the task, which help us to know how to do a good presentation. Then we were debating what topic was more interesting for expose, finally we decided “Healthy habits”.

To do all the task I decided that some members of the group will be in charge to do the presentation of Creative Commons Licence resource, and the other members will dedicate to do the “Healthy habits presentation”.When we  finished the two presentations we revised each one to check that were right. I have offered help to my partners and encouraged them whenever they needed help.
I think that our group has improved because the tasks have been well divided and everyone have done their work well, so being the facilitator has been easy for me. This task has been very interesting since we have learned how to do a good presentation, which is very useful for our future as teachers, and the different types of licences.

We have made a presentation introducing information about licenses and methods to make a good presentation. The link of our presentation in Slideshare is the following:

We've also made another one about the topic which our Star had to expose in the class:

Star - Week 4 -

     Hello everyone!
We are Paula and Cristina and this week we have been the stars of our group.
As we were nine groups we had to explain our exposition nine times, once to each group, including ours. The first time it was to our group so it was the best show.
Both stars were very nervous in the exposition and our group partners could noticed it so when we finished it they gave us some advices in order to do better the next time, like that we had to speak louder and slower.  After five minutes the telephone alarm of Linda sounds and the groups rotated to the next presentation and when Linda said it, we started our presentations again.
Little by Little the nervous started to leave and we could be relaxed and even enjoy it. Each group, after the presentation had to told us some things about it, like the thing that they most like and the less. After three more expositions, it was the time to present it to Linda and the group that went with her. We presented it like to the other groups with nervous but trying to do our best.
When Paula was talking about the TCK, Linda started the feedback with her about the differences of the different knowledge. Once her questions were answered, Paula continued with the presentation. Finally, when it was ended, Linda asked in which knowledge we could put some subjects.
After some more minutes, the groups rotated again and we started and made our presentation four more times.
In the last one we were a bit tired but we hadn´t got nervous at all.
Finally, class ended and we were ready to leave!
