Hello, my name is Lucy and this week I have been the journalist in my group. All right, let's begin.
In the work of this week we have been in charge of everything related to TPACK. We started looking for the necessary information to answer some questions that the teacher had asked us; then we started to think about ideas to make our poster and finally came the time to do the manual work and put our ideas into practice, in this last part we divided: the stars of the group were in charge of making the speech that they were going to expose and the rest of us were taking care of making the poster. And that's how the day of the exhibitions came. Before starting, the teacher called the Curator-Farmers from each group and she told to them to run around the class. It was a funny situation to those who didn't have to run.
Then she placed each pair of Stars in an area of the class and finally the exhibitions began.
Well, we first heard the exposition of our Stars, then we gave them the latest advice and we encouraged them.
In all the visits we made to the groups they explained the same thing to us: what was the TPACK, what were its elements and if it was enough to explain the action of the teachers. Knowing this, I will write some observations that my group and I made to other groups.
The first visit we made was to the Stars of the Spiky Teachers group, who explained us that they had chosen this design for their poster because, as they talked about technology, what better way to represent it than with a design based on technology? In addition it was a creative design and with a simple glance you could understand what the job was about.
Then we went to the area where the Stars of the Star Fish group were, whose poster design we thought was beautiful; another aspect that we liked was that at the time of the explanation, we understood all they said perfectly; nevertheless we advised that they were linking the whole set of the explanation and that they were not putting the question and then responding it.
Later we visited the pair of Stars of Ladies and Gentleman, in their explanation we noticed that they had a very fluent English and that we understood them perfectly; another aspect in their favor was that they accompanied the explanation with examples; but we told them that they had to improve the design of their poster, because to be able to see it well, we had to get quite close to the poster.
Our next Stars to visit were those of the group The Wildcats, who explained us that they had chosen that design for their poster because it was the one that best adapted to their concept of TPACK: clear, creative, with keywords and that allowed you to understand everything with a single glance. From this group we liked their creativity and the natural way in which they had put the questions in their exposition; however we commented that they had to explain a little more separately the elements of TPACK and that when it was time to put things on the poster, they tried to not turn so much, since that made them not heard well.
The next visit was to the Stars of the Fishers in the River group. They explained us that their design was based on a Spider Diagram because they liked how important concepts were viewed and because it was simple to understand. From this group we liked the originality of their poster and how careful the small details were. But we told them that they should keep in mind that they had to spoke more face to the public.
And that's how we got to the Stars of the Spacers 2.0 group, they explained us that they had chosen Mind Scape as the design pattern for their poster because the concepts, ideas and illustrations were clearly displayed. From this group, I personally liked the detail that the astronaut represented the teacher; and we liked the creativity of the poster and how well they exposed the stars of the group, since they were very well coordinated.
The following Stars belonged to the Flower Power group, which when we arrived, gave us a flower for Valentine's Day; a curious and funny detail, don't you think?
The design of their poster was based on a Mind Map, and they chose it because they could represent many ideas in the same place and because it was simple to understand. We liked the creativity of their poster; however we told them that they should speak a little louder.
And finally, we visited the Stars of the Archi-Teachers group, they had used a design based on the Buzon Map in which the main idea was in the center and the secondary ideas were coming out of the central, like an octopus. We liked the design of the poster, as it was very original; we should also mention the good coordination that the Stars had when they were explaining the exhibition; and finally, we emphasize that they had fluent English and that it was understood very well.
Finally, I will end by commenting on the last general question (There is any important part of the Teacher's action that is not already included in TPACK model? Is TPACK enough to understand the work of a teacher?) writing how all groups have responded: In general to the first question some groups responded that the action of the teacher was collected in TPACK and other groups responded that some aspects were missing; however, to the second question, all groups agreed that TPACK is not enough to explain the action of teachers.
